Important Deadlines for Your 2025 Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Dear Colleagues:

Important Reminder About Your 2025 FSA Funds

If you still have money remaining in your 2025 Flexible Spending Account (FSA), be sure to use it soon to avoid losing those funds.

  • You have until March 15, 2026, to incur eligible expenses using your remaining 2025 FSA balance.
  • You must submit all claims for those expenses by June 30, 2026.

Eligible expenses may include deductibles, copays, eyeglasses, dental treatments, and other qualified healthcare costs not covered by your medical plan.

Under the IRS “use it or lose it” rule, any 2025 FSA funds not used by the deadline will be forfeited. There are no exceptions, so be sure to plan ahead and take full advantage of your benefit.

Important information about using your PNC BeneFit Plus debit card

As you plan to use your remaining 2025 FSA funds, please keep the following in mind:

  • Your PNC BeneFit Plus debit card can only charge expenses to the 2025 plan year if you have enough 2025 funds available to cover the entire purchase.
  • The system cannot split one debit card transaction between the 2025 and 2026 plan years.
  • If your purchase amount is more than your remaining 2025 balance, the full transaction will automatically be applied to your 2026 plan year.

Make the most of your 2025 funds

If your expense is greater than your remaining 2025 balance, consider paying with another form of payment instead of your debit card. Then, submit a claim through the PNC BeneFit Plus Employee Portal for reimbursement.

When you submit a claim through the portal (instead of using the debit card), approved expenses can be split between the 2025 and 2026 plan years. This helps ensure you fully use your remaining 2025 balance before any deadlines.

Filing for reimbursement

To file a claim online, log in to your PNC BeneFit Plus account and click on "Accounts." On the far right side of the screen, click on the drop down arrow next to the box titled "I want to" and click on the words "File a Claim." From there, follow the instructions to complete your claim online. You may need to attach supporting documentation.

To file a paper claim, download and complete a copy of the PNC Reimbursement Request Form (PDF). Include a copy of the detailed bill or explanation of benefits and either mail or fax the information to:
