Accommodation Process

Our accommodations process is guided by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as well as University policy 3-01.3. The process is designed to ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to participate fully in the same activities, campus services, benefits, and experiences offered to students without disabilities, to use the same information shared with all students, and to have the same opportunities to achieve. Because accommodations are intended to provide equal access and do not guarantee academic success, they do not alter the expectations held for all students regarding campus behavior or academic standards. Instructors are not obligated to provide accommodations retroactively; accommodations take effect only after the student submits their Course Accommodation Letter (CAL).
