Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS)


Description: Sociologists for Women in Society is a nonprofit professional feminist organization dedicated to furthering the intellectual examinations of social problems from a feminist perspective and career development of feminist scholars in higher education.

Purpose: Sociologists for Women in Society encourages the development of sociological feminist theory and scholarship, the transformation of higher education through feminist leadership, career development, and institutional diversity, the promotion of social justice through local, national, and international activism, and the publication and dissemination of cutting edge feminist social science research.
