Dr. Dominique Hill is the Assistant Dean of Students for Recreation and Wellness Services at Kent State University, a position he has held since June 2023. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Wellness at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. With over seventeen years of experience, Dr. Hill is dedicated to addressing the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students, using a strategic approach that promotes interpersonal growth, education, and overall development.

Originally from Mesic, North Carolina, Dr. Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, Exercise, and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned both a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University.

A passionate servant leader, Dr. Hill currently serves as Special Advisor to the International President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for the UNC Chapel Hill Carolina Honors Program and is part of the inaugural cohort of the NASPA Ujima Institute, which supports African American and Black higher education professionals aspiring to senior student affairs officer and faculty positions. Additionally, Dr. Hill serves on the advisory board for the Ujima Institute.

Dr. Hill is committed to fostering equity and inclusivity in higher education. He founded Baylor University’s first employee resource group, the Black Faculty and Staff Association, and his contributions to diversity were recognized with the inaugural Staff Champion of Change Award and the Diversity Enhancement Award in 2021.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Hill is a proud family man. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Gretel, and they have three children—Nadia, Kayla, and Dominque, II—and a granddaughter, Kaelynn. He is inspired daily by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s words: "Don’t allow anybody to make you feel that you are nobody. Always feel that you count. Always feel that you have worth. And always feel that your life has ultimate significance."
