No. Faculty and staff should not request proof of pregnancy or ask for a doctor’s note. Your role is to focus on the accommodation being requested and to create a supportive environment.
Please refer the individual to the Office of Gender Equity & Title IX at titleix@kent.edu, where documentation and support can be appropriately managed.
If you receive any documents containing medical information, do not retain them. Instead, immediately forward them to the Office of Gender Equity & Title IX. Medical records should not be kept in departmental files.
