Faculty, staff and students from Kent State University and the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (OCPM) came together for a Meet-and-Greet Day on April 21 at Dix Stadium. The event celebrated the collaboration between both institutions. The event was free and open to Kent State and OCPM employees and their families.

The University Library will open April 29 at 9 a.m. and remain open until May 4 at 10 a.m. for students studying for finals.

On Monday, April 30, and Tuesday, May 1, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the library will host another edition of its Stress-Free Zone on the first floor of the University Library where students are provided a study break with free popcorn, drinks and games. The therapy dogs from the Dogs on Campus program will be there, too.

Former Memphis associate head coach becomes the fifth coach in program history.

Kent State University Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen has announced the hiring of Danielle O’Banion as women's basketball head coach.  O’Banion takes over as the fifth head coach in the 37-year history of Kent State women’s basketball after spending the last four seasons on staff at Memphis.

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow will headline a concert at Kent State University on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at Dix Stadium in Kent, Ohio. The “Centennial Campaign” concert to benefit the Campaign for Change Scholarship Fund serves as a celebration of the conclusion of Kent State’s Centennial Campaign, a $250-million fundraising effort timed around university’s 100th anniversary in 2010 and the largest campaign in Kent State’s history.

Join the faculty, students and staff of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry on Thursday, April 19, 2012 as we celebrate student achievement. Dr. Bartosz A. Grzybowski from Northwestern University will present the plenary lecture, "The Network Universe of Organic Chemistry: The Dawn of Chemical Internet" at 3:00p.m. in the Kiva. Dr. Grzybowski's research interests include self-assembly in equilibrium and non-equilibrium regimes, light-controlled materials, and nanoscience.

Fulfilling the commitment Kent State University President Lester A. Lefton made to students, the university has began initial construction activities on the Student Green project in the Kent Student Center area, located at the heart of the campus. The new Student Green will extend from the recently renovated Risman Plaza to the lawn area south, creating a contiguous green space from the current student center plaza to Summit Street.
