    Biography

    A graduate of the Kent State flight program in 2007, Jonathan Weaver returned to the Kent State in 2020 bringing experience in aviation that is varied and multifaceted. With both pilot and maintenance experience and commercial certificates with the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States and under International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards in Zambia, he brings international experience to the Kent State University College of Aeronautics and Engineering. Mr. Weaver participated in the document writing and application process for a missionary organization to obtain Air Operator Certification (AOC) and become an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), and he served as their Maintenance Manager overseeing the aircraft maintenance department. Jonathan brings over 15 years of experience as an A&P and IA Mechanic and as a commercial pilot and flight instructor and has been instrumental in the development of Kent State University’s Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Management, as well working toward FAA Part 147 approval of a University aviation maintenance training school.
