Jazmin Long is the President and CEO of Birthing Beautiful Communities, a non-profit community of doulas who provide social support for Black women who are at highest risk for infant mortality during the perinatal period. With a strong background in leadership and development, Ms. Long is guiding BBC to mobilize both community residents and organizational partners in addressing the social, structural, and economic determinants of health. Since starting as a pilot project in 2015, BBC has expanded to train more than 100 doulas and serve more than 1,000 mothers in Northeast Ohio. Her commitment to improved birth outcomes and equitable medical care for mothers and children of color aligns seamlessly with the values and mission of AREI.

Ms. Long previously served as a deputy director at Global Cleveland and currently teaches at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University where she recently received the 2023 Innovator of the Year award.
