CCI Study Abroad Travel Incentives

CCI Explore provides students with opportunities to explore beyond their conventional boundaries, to discover new destinations and experience new cultures. CCI Explore offers CCI undergraduate students three ways to make global exploration more affordable than ever before:

  • Travel Scholarship. Imagine this:  You can now have a CCI travel scholarship ready for you when you are ready to study abroad at a CCI destination (like Florence, Lisbon, Prague or Beijing and Chengdu). CCI will hold a scholarship of up to $2,500 (depending on your financial need) for you to use the semester you choose to study abroad. To be eligible for a CCI Travel Scholarship, you need to be a full-time undergraduate student* in CCI, maintain a 2.0 GPA, have demonstrated financial need (as determined by the FAFSA) and apply through a simple questionnaire.

  • First Passport Fund.  A passport is the first step in traveling abroad. This fund provides first-time passports to CCI majors with a strong desire to study overseas, who have a 2.0 GPA and have financial need as demonstrated by FAFSA. Best of all, there is no separate application form – students can simply indicate that they need a first passport whey they fill out the Travel Scholarship questionnaire.

  • Exploration Travel Passes. We encourage students to visit more than one location when they study abroad in Europe. Students who spend a semester in Florence, Lisbon or Prague, will receive an additional $500 to help them travel to other European locations. CCI students spending a semester at Kent State Florence will also receive a month-long rail pass to explore other destinations in Italy.
