Participants will learn about how a Kent State of Wellness Plate is defined.
Sept. 6, 2017: Weigh the Waste
Time & Location: 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Eastway Cafe
Clear bins and bags will be used to help students recognize waste and reduction opportunities and increase efficiency.
Sept. 7, 2017: Farm to Fork
Time & Location: 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Eastway Cafe
An interactive opportunity for students to learn about local food production.
Sept. 7, 2017: Welcome Back Kickoff at Tuscarawas
Time & Location: 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Kent State Tuscarawas
We will welcome students back for the Fall 2017 semester with samples and giveaways.
Sept. 8, 2017: Black Squirrel Festival
Time & Location: 12:00-5:00 p.m. at Risman Plaza
The Black Squirrel Festival offers students a chance to learn about student organizations, explore different university departments and learn more about the Kent community.
Sept. 8, 2017: Football Kickoff Tailgate
Time & Location: 4:30-8:00 p.m. at Eastway Cafe
Football-themed concession items will be featured to kickoff homecoming weekend.
Sept. 13, 2017: Gluten-Free Demo

Students can stop by for gluten-free samples and recipes provided our Executive Chef.

Our Registered Dietitian will educate students about how to build a healthy plate.
Sept. 20, 2017: Taste of Kent

Students will be able to sample various offerings from each dining location across campus.

Students can participate in activities to learn more about plant forward diets, as well as the health and environmental benefits of eating vegan and vegetarian options.

Come enjoy the festive and exotic fusion of Latin America! This event will feature delicious foods, fun decor, and festive culture from all over Latin America.

Students will be able to try new, nutritious menu items such as Tabbouleh and Vegan Oatmeal Cookies at select campus dining locations.

Show your knowledge of recycling! Compete against other students to correctly sort sample waste items into its correct waste stream! Earn one point for each correct item and win a prize! Prizes include dining location coupons, t-shirts, pens, etc.
