Employer Connection Days
Our students have many opportunities to network and make connections with professionals working in their fields. Our Employer Connection Days are one we help make that happen, giving our students the chance to hear from industry leaders just what they're looking for in future employees.
Spring 2023
March 6 & 7, 2023 – WDRB: Open chat with students in the newsroom about the news industry, observe the TV2 newscast and provide a critique, class visits and organization/internship presentation to Interview and Data for Journalists and Advanced TV News, and one-on-one scheduled student meet and greets.
March 13 & 14, 2023 – The E.W. Scripps Company: One-on-one scheduled student meet and greets, observe the TV2 newscast and provide a critique, and class visits and organization/internship presentation to Student Media Practicum and Advanced TV News
April 4 – Spectrum News: One-on-one scheduled student meet and greets, observe the TV2 newscast and provide a critique, and class visits and organization/internship presentation to Reporting
Fall 2023
September 26 – WJW Fox 8 New Day Cleveland: Open chat with students in the newsroom about the news industry, and class visits and organization/internship presentation to Broadcast Reporting and Production Fundamentals
October 10 – WKYC Site Visit: Site visit to the WKYC Studio in Cleveland with two of Gretchen Hoak’s classes; Broadcast Reporting and Producing TV News
October 18 – Caliber: and class visits and organization/internship presentation to Digital Analytics in Advertising and PR
