Three JMC Women Named KSU Mothers, Mentors, Muses

Three JMC women are recognized for making a significant difference.

Three JMC women are among 54 KSU women recognized for making a significant difference in the lives of students or colleagues as part of the annual “Mothers, Mentors and Muses” recognition program sponsored by KSU’s Women’s Center.

Lori Cantor, Student Media business manager, Associate Professor Jacquie Marino and Assistant Professor Stefanie Moore were nominated for helping “birth” the ideas and academic endeavors of others; serving as trusted counselors, colleagues and role models or inspiring creativity and artistic/academic passion in others.

Seven of this year’s honorees are from the College of Communication and Information. More than 100 Kent State women have received this honor in the past, including JMC’s 2012 honorees Associate Professor Michele Ewing, Assistant Professor Jan Leach and Academic Advisor Amy Wilkens, and 2010 honorees Associate Professor Barbara Hipsman, senior secretary Sharon Marquis and lecturer Traci Williams.

Honorees will be recognized at the 4th annual Mothers, Mentors and Muses Scholarship Fundraiser Reception on May 12th at the KSU Student Center. Read more about the event.

The Kent State University’s Women Center, a division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, facilitates the advancement of and to enhance the quality of educational experience and professional life for women students, faculty and staff of all campuses.
