
Ann Schierhorn
Biography
Professor Emerita Ann Schierhorn taught print and digital reporting, feature writing, magazine writing and editing and magazine publishing with an emphasis on entrepreneurship.
She also taught the New York Media Seminar, in which students traveled to the city to visit media professionals, the Business Media Seminar, in which students learned about job opportunities in specialized business media, and Fashion Publishing for students in the Fashion Media minor. She also served as a writing coach for newspapers and magazines.
Professional experience includes Sunday magazine editor, Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle, suburban editor, Rochester Times-Union, and editor-at-large and writing coach, Iowa City (Iowa) Press-Citizen.
Research interests: Civil rights, newsroom creative teams and collaborative storytelling.
