Student Profile: Cohlman Arthur

Wyatt Simon, Tyler Wood, Sophia Sainato and Cohlman Arthur play a trivia game on the live television show All Systems Go!

When you meet with Cohlman Arthur, it’s immediately clear how much he cares about his work and the people around him. He comes into meetings prepared, enthusiastic, and full of ideas about how to strengthen his team. He asks thoughtful questions, looks for ways to support his peers, and approaches every challenge with an energy that reflects how deeply he values collaboration and growth.

Since joining Student Media in Fall 2023, Cohlman has built a strong foundation of leadership through consistency and care. A Digital Media Production major graduating in Fall 2027, he now serves as Audio and Entertainment Director, overseeing both Black Squirrel Radio and Black Squirrel Entertainment. In this role, he works closely with students to help them find their voices, create meaningful projects, and push the boundaries of what campus entertainment can be.

Cohlman’s leadership is rooted in listening. He takes time to understand what his peers need, ensures that everyone has the resources and support to do their best work, and encourages his team to try new ideas. His approach has helped foster a culture of collaboration across Student Media, whether that’s working with production teams, sharing ideas in leadership meetings, or finding new ways to connect with audiences.

During his time with Student Media, Cohlman has also served as a TV Executive Producer and Blurb Showrunner. He’s a recipient of the Patti Moon Memorial Scholarship and the James C. & Cynthia J. Schrum Scholarship, both recognizing his dedication and leadership.

Through his involvement, Cohlman says his experience at Kent State has “changed [his] perception of media as a whole and how to run with it through collaboration, dedication, and communication.”

As Cohlman continues to grow within Student Media, his steady presence and commitment remind everyone around him that leadership isn’t just about producing great content; it’s about helping others shine along the way.
