Lunchtime Bike Ride Planned for Aug. 11

Bring your bike from home or check out a bike through the Flashfleet bike share program at one of eight locations around campus. Join Chris John from the Department of Recreational Services on Thursday, Aug. 11, at noon for a 30- to 40-minute ride on the Kent Campus, as well as the surrounding community. Flashfleet locations include the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, Eastway Center, Van Campen Hall, Tri-Towers, Terrace Hall, Stopher-Johnson, the Kent Student Center and PARTA in downtown Kent.

*Registration in the Flashfleet bike share programs required for use of Flashfleet bikes (discount codes can be provided for all registered participants). For more information about Flashfleet, email Chris John at cjohn4@Kent.edu or call 330-474-0785.

The group will meet at noon at the Flashfleet Kiosk at the Kent Student Center and begin a ride promptly at 12:10 p.m. A limited number of bikes are available at this kiosk, so please consider renting a bike from another location and biking to the Kent Student Center. Registration will be limited for the safety of the group. Helmets from home are strongly recommended.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.

Open Enrollment is from Oct. 16, through Nov. 3. Each year in the fall, benefits-eligible employees may select and make changes to their health coverage plans based on their needs and the needs of their family. Outside a qualifying life event, this will be the only window during which such changes may be made. Click to learn more, and to see how to access the Open Enrollment Portal.
