Sheren Farag

Dr. Farag is being nominated for her innovative student-centered pedagogy, emphasizing active learning that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills through strategies like collaborative, project-based, and experiential learning. Given the hands-on nature of the horticulture field, which requires students to actively engage with concepts, Dr. Farag is dedicated to ensuring that they participate in the learning process by applying real-world contexts to enhance retention. Her main goal is to prepare students to perform as highly skilled professionals in horticulture. Beverly Reed, Ph.D.

Bev Reed

Bev is committed to promoting self-efficacy and belonging within each of her courses and is constantly innovating in mathematics instruction. Through her leadership in the College Teaching in Mathematics course, Bev encourages new graduate student educators to value the impact that instructors can have in building a positive and supportive classroom environment. Her mentorship within her department is training the next generation of math educators.
