Casey Nichols
Biography
Advising 38 yearbooks in 36 years of teaching middle school and high school, Casey Nichols lives in Rocklin, CA and continues to teach at the college level. He also serves as an Ambassador for Jostens yearbook division consulting on all forms of journalism education.
His staff won Crowns and Pacemakers along with many state awards. Nichols is the former JEA Yearbook Adviser of the Year, a NSPA Pioneer, a CSPA Gold Key recipient, and member of the Ball State Journalism Hall of Fame. He also served as the JEA Awards chair. His passion remains in storytelling in all forms. It takes great design to display great photos and compelling reporting while helping each staff create a better yearbook.
Nichols taught at Eich Intermediate School (Roseville, CA, which he also attended) for 11 years and Rocklin High School for 25. He continues to teach for Kent State University and Sierra Community College. He is married, his wife Sarah is a high school media adviser, with two daughters and a cat.
