How do I reserve a room in Franklin Hall?
Selected classrooms in Franklin Hall are available for MDJ students to reserve during Fall/Spring semester. Log into Cheqroom to start the reservation process. Room reservations require seven (7) days’ notice for completion. Reservations with less than seven days’ notice may not be approved.
To reserve an editing suite or photo studio, log into Cheqroom with your FlashLine info to start the reservation process. Audio suite and photo studio reservations require one (1) business day notice to reserve.
To reserve the TV studio, complete this form and the SRL manager will advise you once the reservation has been approved. TV studio reservations require two (2) business days’ notice for reservations.
How do I use Cheqroom?
You go to Cheqroom and make sure to login with SSO.
Can I have the room tomorrow (or sooner)?
Room reservations require seven (7) days’ notice. Reservations requested with less than seven days’ notice may not be approved.
Editing suites and the photo studio require one (1) business day notice to reserve.
The TV studio requires two (2) business days to reserve.
What kind of rooms are available to reserve?
There are a variety of rooms available for reservation in Franklin Hall. You may select between conference style rooms (116 & 119) or open studio spaces (125 & 331).
The TV studio, photo studio, and editing suites are available for classroom assignment use only.
Can I reserve the First Energy auditorium (room 340)?
The auditorium is not available for individual student use.
What hours are the editing suites available to reserve?
The editing suites are open Monday through Saturday - 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
What hours is the photo studio available for reservation?
The photo studio is open Monday through Saturday - 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

My student organization needs to use production equipment. Can I check out equipment from the SRL?
Student members of official Kent State Student Media partners can check out equipment through the SRL under the auspices of their specific organization. Students should check with their media partner’s leadership for further guidance on parameters for access. Student members of the Flash Film Commission (FFC) require written approval from the FFC president to check out equipment.
Non-Student Media organizations do not have access to the SRL.
I am an MDJ alum. Can I reserve equipment through the SRL?
The Student Resource Lab (SRL) is supported by MDJ student fees. Access to the SRL is limited to current MDJ students only.
