Quick Tip: Canvas Module Publishing Options
Fall semester is in full swing and we hope this week's Tip will save you some clicks. Instructors can now publish and unpublish all modules, or individual items within modules, in bulk. For instructors using weekly released modules, or copying content to a new course, bulk publishing and unpublishing will save valuable time.
Publish or Unpublish All Modules
From the Modules page, click the Publish All button [1] at the top of the page and select the desired action [2].
Publish or Unpublish Individual Modules and Items
From an individual module, click the Module Status Menu [1] and select the desired action [2].
TIP: Keep in mind that individual items are still also controlled at the category level (Page, Assignment, Quiz, etc.). For example, if a quiz is unpublished at the category level (on the Quizzes page), its published status can be overridden by the bulk publication action from the Modules page.
There are also nuances when using Bulk Publishing for Files. It is a good rule of thumb to always confirm that the items you plan to publish are reflected as intended.
