Upcoming 2022 Blue, Gold and Grateful Activities

Dear Kent State University Faculty and Staff,

We are excited to return to full, in-person campus activities in preparation for the fall semester! For those of you who have been working remotely this summer, your presence has been missed, and we can’t wait to see you on campus. To celebrate our community, here are a few Blue, Gold and Grateful activities to show our appreciation:

Blue and Gold Out Staff Appreciation Cookout

The Kent Campus will host a Blue and Gold Out Staff Appreciation Cookout on Aug. 8 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Risman Plaza. There will be food trucks, music and giveaways. Food will also be available that evening for second- and third-shift employees at the Kent Student Center Ballroom at 10 p.m. Come out and enjoy food, music and fun!

Blue and Gold Out Staff Appreciation Cookouts will also take place at the College of Podiatric Medicine and our Regional Campuses. Details for those events will be sent by the campus dean.

Wear Your Blue and Gold Attire

To celebrate the kickoff to the fall semester and the return of in-person campus activities, faculty and staff can come to work decked out in casual blue and gold attire for the entire month of August.

Enter to win the Blue and Gold Out social media contest! Visit the Kent State Facebook page and share photos that show your Kent State spirit in the comments section of our latest post. Winners will be announced on Aug. 26.

A Night at the Theatre

Buy one ticket and get one free to see “West Side Story” at Porthouse Theatre on Aug. 14. “West Side Story” is Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Use the code BOGOFLASH and your Kent State email when purchasing.

Check Out the Golden Flashes Volleyball Team

Check out the Golden Flashes volleyball team and enjoy a K cookie at an open practice in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center on Aug. 12 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. as the team prepares for the 29-game regular season, which starts with the annual Blue and Gold Scrimmage on Aug. 20.

Munch on your K cookies and cheer for the Flashes!

We look forward to seeing you at all the Blue, Gold and Grateful activities! Stay tuned for more Blue, Gold and Grateful announcements.
