Job Description
  • Starting wage:  $25.54
  • Wage after 1 year and completion of probationary period: $28.35
  • Annual wage increases for accomplished training for an additional 4 years

Qualifications
  • 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good driving record
  • No convictions for violent criminal offenses
  • Good physical condition

Training Requirements

Police officers must complete a certified Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academy. KSU Police Services will provide this training to qualified candidates who do not have this certification upon hire. Newly hired police officers will then complete an immediate five-month Field Training Program or will complete the program at the conclusion of their academy attendance.

  • Wage after 1 year and completion of probationary period: $22.64

Training Requirements

Emergency Services Dispatchers must complete a three-month in-service training program along with certification classes for Public Safety Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatcher.  The certification class will be provided and paid for by the agency.
