Testing Services

Students who receive testing accommodations must request their Course Accessibility Letter prior to scheduling an exam in the SAS Testing Center. To take an exam in the SAS Testing Center, students need to schedule their exam appointments in Access KSU. All exam appointments should be scheduled at least 3 business days prior to the date of the exam. When scheduling exam appointments, please make sure to select the appropriate accommodations needed for the exam.

Please note, SAS will no longer proctor exams that use Proctorio. Quiet study areas and single rooms located in the University Library are listed here. If your exam uses Proctorio and you require accommodations in addition to extended time or a reduced distraction testing location, please contact Patti Marcum at pmarcum@kent.edu to discuss alternative options.

Hours for testing at SAS are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 4:45 pm. The SAS Testing Center is not available when the University is offering only remote courses and/or classes are not in session which includes campus closures, university holidays, fall break, spring break, Thanksgiving recess, etc.

Students requesting to complete exams at a date or time other than when the class is testing must communicate with their professors and receive permission. This permission must be communicated by the instructor directly to SAS. For example, if the class takes an exam at 7:45 a.m. the instructor can provide the student's accommodations themselves or submit permission to SAS by email or on SAS' Exam Instruction Form stating that the student can take the exam at an alternate time since SAS is not open for testing until 8:00 am.

Any incidents of improper testing taking, as defined by the University’s Policy on Student Cheating and Plagiarism, will be handled as if the incident occurred in the classroom. Please note that SAS will report violations to instructors and may also report violations to the Office of Student Conduct.
