May 2020 Social Media Recap

May has come and gone – in a flash! During such an unpredictable time, we have been busy keeping our Golden Flashes family informed about the remote working/learning operations and celebrating the Class of 2020. Last month was also the 50th commemoration of May 4, 1970. After a yearlong observance, the virtual tribute and other content surrounding the milestone anniversary proved to be some of the most engaging posts of the month. 

Here’s a look at the top posts for May. 

Instagram

The top Instagram post for May is the remembrance of May 4, 1970. A collection of images was posted in observance of the 50th anniversary. With an engagement of 4,163 likes, this is the highest liked post not only for the month, but also in the history of our account.  

 

 

Our video highlighting the spring 2020 virtual commencement ceremony also resonated with our audience, earning more than 2,900 views. We were thrilled to be able to celebrate our most recent graduates. 

 

 

Facebook

The highest Facebook engagement also went to the announcement of the online commemoration for May 4 with 764 reactions. 

 

 

Twitter

The post commemorating May 4, 1970 also received the most engagement on Twitter, receiving more than 1,000 likes and 844 retweets.
