September 2021 Social Media Recap

We hope you’re enjoying fall, Golden Flashes! The leaves are starting to change and campus is looking more beautiful than ever. We’ve had many exciting social media posts throughout this past month!

Instagram

The top post on Instagram this month featured a photo gallery showcasing the football team’s home opener vs. Virginia Military Institute! It was great seeing fans return to Dix Stadium.

Another top-performing post was our Homecoming throwback post featuring photos from the past 103 years of homecoming!

Facebook

The post with the highest engagement on Facebook followed in Instagram’s footsteps. Once again, the gallery of the football team’s home opener performed best.

The second top-performing post shared the news that Kent State was named one of the best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges. Kent State is the only public university in Ohio to appear on the list in 2021!

Twitter

Like Instagram and Facebook, the top-performing post on Twitter featured photos from the Golden Flashes’ 60-10 win in the home opener

The second post on Twitter with the most engagement was a reminder about Homecoming 2021. President Diacon and the Marching Golden Flashes drumline were featured in the video that announced all the events for homecoming weekend.

TikTok

Be sure to follow us on TikTok @kentstateu! This month our top-performing video on TikTok featured a post celebrating National Coffee Day. Our team had so much fun participating in this current TikTok trend!

Our video featuring a day in the life of the Undergraduate Student Government President Chazzlyn Jackson was also a hit!
