October 2021 Social Media Recap

Golden Flashes, can you believe we’re already more than halfway through this semester? Time has been flying by! We’ve had an exciting month with lots of notable content. Check out our top posts from October!


We kicked off the month by celebrating our Homecoming traditions! Our top-post on Instagram featured some Homecoming highlights to end the weekend of festivities. This post managed to steal a spot on our list of top ten most successful posts!


We celebrated #SpookySzn in the best way possible by creating a Halloween costume for our beloved mascot, Flash! Check out this blog post for more details on the School of Theatre and Dance students who created this special costume. 



Our top-post on Facebook announced that U.S. News and World Report ranked Kent State among the Top Public Schools in the nation! 


In our second best-performing post, we shared news about the College of Aeronautics and Engineering building expansion



Our top tweet featured a video with memorable moments from Homecoming weekend. 


Our tweet about “Super Flash” performed well, taking the second spot for the most-engaging tweet of the month! This video shows the details of how “Super Flash” came to be. 



October was an exceptionally special month for our mascot, Flash. Not only did he get to debut a Halloween costume developed by Kent State students, he also celebrated his 36th birthday! We partnered with our creative team and many of our fellow Flashes across campus to develop a special video of a collection of birthday wishes for Flash.

Nov. 1 marked Kent State’s early application date. There are many benefits to applying early and this TikTok answered questions that prospective students may have when navigating the application process.
