Retiree and Emeritus Benefits
University faculty and staff members who hold RETIRED and/or Emeritus status from Kent State University are eligible for certain benefits.
In order to access these benefits without convenience, Retirees must have a Retiree Identification (ID) Card prepared by the FLASHcard Office at the Student Center. Emeriti must present documentation of Emeritus status of the FLASHcard Office to receive a special Emeritus designation. The ID card includes a picture, a bar code and indicates your status as retired faculty or staff member. The department from which you retire assumes the cost of this card.
The following is a list of benefits and discounts* provided by various university departments. For specific details, please contact the individual department at the number listed.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
330-672-5566
Generally speaking, email accounts of employees who separate from Kent State University are deactivated. There are exceptions to be aware of:
Separating employees who are Alumni.
Separating employees who are also current students.
Separating employees who hold or are on track to hold Emeritus status.
Other exceptions must be approved by the VP for Information Technology and CIO (these are rare and typically are specific situations where finite, continued engagement with the university is needed to ensure business continuity, student success, etc.)
Regardless of affiliation, if the separating employee’s department requests email forwarding to be established for business continuity, or the protection of high or high-risk data contained in the mailbox or cloud storage environments, the separating employee will be issued a new username. If a new username is issued, it is up to the department to notify the separated employee of their new username.
If the separating employee is a degreed Alumni, they will lose One Drive access as they will be issued an Alumni email license to have "email for life". This license only includes use of email and the To-Do feature of Outlook.
The separating employee should not have any personal accounts (banking, insurance, social media, etc.) linked to their work, kent.edu email. If so, please get all accounts transferred to a personal email account before the last day of work.
Separating employees will retain access to FlashLine in order to access W2s, paystub information and tax documents.
Under no circumstances should Kent State University business-related email or data be provided to a person no longer employed by the university unless provided exception by the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the Division of Information Technology.
Prior to separating from the university, the department should have submitted a Notice of Separation (NOS), appropriate Non-Paid (NP) information if the employee is returning in a non-paid position (Emeritus, volunteer, etc.), and an Employee Email Access request. For Non-Paid information, please review the Non-Paid Accounts knowledgebase article.
For more information, please visit the Separating or Retiring Employee Access knowledgebase article. You can also contact Access Management, AMGroup_DCO@kent.edu, with any questions.
