Aquatics

The Beverly J. Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center features a state-of-the-art natatorium, including two pools (lap and leisure), a rehabilitation vortex, a spa and so much more! A semi-enclosed shallow play area in the leisure pool is ideal for small children. Our leisure pool also features a zero-depth entry ramp and we have a water wheel chair available for patron use. Our 25-yard lap pool includes six lanes and a chair lift. Aquatics programs include Learn to Swim group lessons, Learn to Swim private/semi-private lessons, Golden Splashes Youth Swim Team and the Kent State Swim Club adult swimming group.

We are also responsible for offering a number of safety certifications and courses. Recreation and Wellness Services is the largest safety certifier in Portage County, issuing an average of 600 safety certifications each year!

PEAK Summer Camp

We are excited to offer our PEAK Summer Camp once again for the Summer of 2025!

Registration is open.

The PEAK Summer Camp is designed for children 6 - 12 years of age and is an American Camp Association Accredited Camp. Each session is facilitated by highly motivated and energetic students and professionals.

Campers can expect a wide variety of activities, crafts, and games based around weekly themes, that will keep them engaged and active with campers in their age group. Utilizing several of the facilities that are operated by RecWell, we strive to offer something that every camper can enjoy.

This summer, PEAK will be offering 8 weekly sessions beginning in June, and ending in August, with no camp during the week of July 4th.

We will utilize many Recreation and Wellness Services (RecWell) facilities during PEAK, to provide a wide variety of activities and programming, but we will mainly use the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) as the “home base” for PEAK.
