Celebrate Chem-O-Ween and Mole Day October 22

Celebrate Chem-O-Ween Saturday, October 22 from 1:00-3:45 p.m. with Kent State’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry!  Chem-O-Ween is our spooky celebration of Mole Day and the end of National Chemistry Week!

Join our marvelous undergraduate chemistry majors over melty pizza and gruesome refreshments as our mad scientists present their spine-chilling research in the Integrated Sciences Building lobby. Next, the Wizard of Chemistry will provide an in-depth discussion on amazing careers in chemistry and biochemistry! Troll through our Haunted Labs to witness hair-raising science demos and spooky sorcery created from our witchy cauldrons of magic potions and frightening spells.

Goblins who survive the Haunted Lab Tour will be rewarded with Trick-or-Treat bags and inexplicable (or not?) liquid nitrogen I-scream (ice-cream)! Some lucky ghouls can win prizes like monster moles and superhero Kent State lab coats from the department’s Genius Genie of Chemistry. Chem-O-Ween concludes with a bang as our zombie pumpkins carve themselves into exploding Jack-O-Lanterns on the Student Green!

If you are arriving late to Chem-O-Ween, make sure to pre-register and stop by our registration table in the Integrated Sciences Building. See below for the schedule of events.
