The Kent State chapter of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) received a review of "Commendable Chapter" for the 2015-16 academic year. The Society Committee on Education, part of the American Chemical Society, selects student chapters to receive recognition based on their programs and activities, as described in their annual chapter reports.
The Kent State SAACS group was reactivated in 2012, and is geared toward students in any major who are interested in chemistry and chemistry-related disciplines. They participate in outreach activities, host colloquia speakers, hold professional development and networking events, and more.
