Center featured in "What's the Big Idea?" with KSU President Todd Diacon

Dr. Deric Kenne, Director of the Center for Public Policy and Health, and Dr. Ruoming Jin from the Computer Science Department, joined KSU President, Todd Diacon in the latest series of “What’s the Big Idea?” to discuss their recent research in tracking rates of substance use in Northeast Ohio.

Kenne and Jin received a 5-year, $1.5 million grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), to implement the Northeast Ohio Tri-County Prevention Infrastructure (TCPI) project. The goal of this project is to prevent the onset and reduce the progression of alcohol and other drug use in youth ages 9 to 20 in Geauga, Lake, and Portage counties. Watch the video to learn more about how Kenne and Jin created a dashboard for prevention professionals to access data that will help them formulate their prevention efforts.
