Welcome to the Equal Access Academy! You can find scheduled trainings below that cater to your specific learning goals and job responsibilities. More trainings are being added each semester, so check back soon to find more. If you would like to see something discussed or taught that isn't listed, please let us know by emailing EqualAccess@kent.edu.

Trainings are separated into two categories: those focused on general awareness of accessibility and disability, and those relating specifically to creating accessible digital content. We highly recommend starting with Accessibility Awareness 101 before you move on to more specific trainings.

Managing My Disability

Managing My Disability as a Kent State Employee (For Employees with Disabilities and their Supervisors)

Managing a disability is complicated, especially when juggling life as an employee at Kent State. This workshop will help you navigate your rights, the resources available to you, and demystify the voluntary process of declaring a disability and requesting accommodations. We'll also reviews tips and resources for managing various disability symptoms as well as for supervisors of individuals who disclose a disability.
