About the Annual Fashion Show
The Fashion School at Kent State University stages the the Annual Fashion Show every April. The show highlights the outstanding talents of the Fashion School’s design and merchandising students. It is held annually at the School of Fashion at 515 Hilltop Drive in Kent, Ohio.
For the Annual Fashion Show, fashion students submit work — ranging from athletic wear to evening gowns — to a panel of industry professionals, who decide which collections and looks will be presented on the runway. Fashion merchandising students plan and organize the two-day event.

2020 - FASHION SHOW 2.0
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we realized we had a huge job to replace the annual Fashion Show and invent and implement a memorable, interactive experience that would celebrate its senior designers and merchandising students. The completely virtual extravaganza highlights the hard work of senior design and merchandising students, all of whom have been working toward this moment throughout their four years in the School of Fashion. The event took place on Friday, April 24, premiering on the Kent State Annual Fashion Show Instagram account and via the school’s YouTube channel.
Fashion Show 2.0 embodies an eclectic assortment of styles, materials, concepts and processes of completed garments. The format showcases the work of 45 student designers, who were personally selected (prior to COVID-19 pandemic) by a panel of industry critics to be displayed on the runway in the original live show. More than 140 looks are featured throughout the event – all designed by seniors.
