Discover Fashion Visit Day

At the Kent State University School of Fashion, we revel in the creativity and confidence of our students. We believe you should be able to showcase your talent, which is why our fashion design and merchandising majors have the chance to apply their skills and innovation in real-world settings. This authentic experience has earned the school a consistent ranking among the best fashion programs in the world.

Our on-campus Discover Fashion Visit Days are free and open to all current high school and transfer students.

Discover the prestige of our world-class programs. You will attend a group informational session to learn more about program curriculum and requirements, and engage in a Q&A with academic advisors and a student panel. The visit includes a tour of our building, Rockwell Hall and facilities, including a tour of the Kent State University Museum.

Tours take place in Rockwell Hall.

The School of Fashion Open House invites high school students to learn more about Fashion Design and Merchandising and the incredible opportunities offered at Kent State.

Get Settled and Welcome Presentation

Start the day by checking in with our admissions team and join us for your opening presentation, where you will get to see what your journey at Kent State and the School of Fashion can entail.

9:30 -10:15 a.m.

Faculty Panel

Our faculty panel will help acclimate you to our world-class faculty who will be your professors throughout your time with us at Kent State and be mentors to you for a lifetime. These integral parts of our student experience will help show you what life can be like after graduation.

10:15 -11 a.m.

Student Panel

Hear from the best community that Kent State has to offer, our School of Fashion students. Learn about the student experience and what it takes to not only survive our elite School of Fashion, but how to thrive and maximize your time at Kent State.

11 – 11:45 a.m.

Study Away Panel

One of the most unique parts of our programs is the requirement to study abroad or study away so that you can have a global experience with the fashion industry. Learn about the process that our students go through to ensure success and the different opportunities that Kent State presents to our innovators of the fields of Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising.

11 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Make and Takes

Join us in our outstanding maker spaces within Rockwell Hall, the TechStyle Lab and the KnitLab where you will have the chance to do hands-on work with our machines and faculty.

Open Museum

Take time to explore the Kent State University Museum and see the rich history of fashion and other arts that we have featured through our world-class exhibitions.

Guided Tours by Students

Learn about the many spaces that our students interact with daily from the students themselves. Primarily highlighting our spaces within Rockwell Hall, our School of Fashion has touchpoints throughout campus within the MACC Annex and Prentice Hall among other spaces like our Design Innovation Hub.
