Kent State University School of Fashion alumna, Jasmine Rene Johnson, was recently featured on Cleveland.com for her unconventional journey in the fashion world. Johnson transitioned from Kent State to designing wedding wear and boxing apparel, which can be seen on major networks like ESPN and Showtime.
Johnson spoke about finding her passion for sewing in high school, leading her to Kent State University’s fashion design program. After graduation, she worked at a post office while creating custom dresses to build her business. “Every dress I’ve worked on has been a learning experience in fine-tuning my skills,” Johnson told Cleveland.com.
