KSU School of Fashion Faculty and Students Featured at the Annual Ronald McDonald Charity Show

The School of Fashion will have two faculty members and several students featured at Wine Women & Shoes Fashion Show, benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio. Assistant professor Krissi Riewe and senior lecturer Trista Grieder will be showing nearly 20 stylish looks on students who will be modeling during the event as we participate in fashion and compassion for a cause on Saturday, October 22 at the InterContinental Hotel in Cleveland.

The Wine Women & Shoes Fashion Show, benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio, is a fabulous day of fashion, fun and philanthropy with family and friends! Guests will get a first-hand glimpse of the creativity and talent cultivated by students from Kent State University’s School of Fashion. The event will feature amazing fashions, tasting of fine wines, the always envied Key to the Closet Raffle, Wall of Wine Raffle, and incredible auction, shopping marketplace, photo booth and more fun! 


Assistant professor Krissi Riewe received an MFA in Fashion Design from the University of North Texas. Prior to earning her M.F.A., she gained experience in the industry, working as a store manager and buyer for a specialty women’s store for eight years. Her research focuses on finding ways to use digital technology in the design and making processes work more efficiently, sustainably, and creatively.

Senior lecturer Trista Grieder has taught merchandising and design classes for 12 years at Kent State University. Her industry experience includes Wrangler, Dillard’s, Mountain High Hosiery, Augusta Sportswear and other small companies. In addition, she has published two articles "Collaborative Production for Sustainability and Fashionability" and "Collaborative Production in a Real Life Scenario." She designs pieces that draw from her background as a costume designer and her own personal heritage. Trista received a B.A. in costume design from Kent State University and an M.S. in higher education-online learning from Kaplan University in Chicago, Illinois. She is currently working on her M.F.A. in costume technology at Kent State University.
