Xingqiu Lou, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Xingqiu Lou is an assistant professor in the School of Fashion at Kent State University. She holds a B.S. in Fashion Design and Engineering from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, an M.S. in Fashion and Apparel Studies from University of Delaware and both an M.S. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Textile Technology Management from North Carolina State University.
As an educator, Dr. Lou is committed to fostering a student-centered and collaborative learning environment. She leverages digital teaching tools and innovative pedagogical approaches to incorporate real-world applications into her curriculum, enhance student engagement, and better prepare students for their future professional careers.
Dr Lou's research lies at the intersection of emerging technologies, consumer experience, and sustainability within the fashion industry. Her work examines how advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), shape consumer decision-making and transform retail experiences in technology-mediated environments. She also investigates the role of innovative technologies, including blockchain, in advancing sustainable practices and addressing environmental and social challenges within the industry. Her research contributes to the broader discourse on digital transformation and sustainability in fashion and has been published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals.
