Student Awards

Student awards honor and recognize our fashion design and merchandising students’ collections, single submissions and contributions. Receiving these awards is not only a testament to the students’ skills, but a representation of their dedication to and passion for the fashion industry and their education at the School of Fashion. Awards winners are selected by the panel of industry critics, except for the Students’ Choice award, and are presented to the winning students at the Friday Awards Fashion Show.

  • Awarded to an outstanding Annual Fashion Show production team student.

STUDENTS’ CHOICE

  • The School of Fashion students’ determine their design choice celebrating their peer’s creative abilities.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN

  • A collection or design that can be worn, understood, and used to the greatest extent possible by all people regardless of their age, size, gender identity, or ability.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS

  • A collection or design for a special occasion.

INNOVATION

  • A collection or design that is developed from an innovative concept.

KNITWEAR

  • A collection or design that is knitted by hand or industrial knitting machine and is innovative and marketable.

MARKET READY

  • A collection or design ready for introduction into sale-able market.

NICHE MARKET

  • A collection or design geared towards a specialized market.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

  • A marketable collection or design representing one or more of the following: zero waste; design for disassembly; modular design; or up-cycling.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUE

  • A collection or design utilizing an advanced technique resulting in an innovative solution.

TECHSTYLELAB

  • A collection or design utilizing digitalization and technology housed in the TechStyleLAB to express the designer’s vision.
