Calvin Adkins, M.L.I.S. student on stage

Calvin Adkins (he/him) is a Kent State M.L.I.S. student with a focus on public and children’s librarianship. He works at the Lorain campus of Cleveland Public Library as a Public Services Associate, and he’s incredibly proud of the work he and his awesome coworkers do to serve their community. One of Calvin’s favorite parts of library work is orchestrating programs and storytime outreach for local children. He is the founder of multiple library youth programs, including a comic creation club and a youth writers’ group.

Outside of library work, Calvin is a writer of poetry, plays and narrative fiction, as well as an actor, singer and cartoonist. This summer, he’ll be directing young performers in Broadview Heights Spotlights’ production of Sideways Stories from Wayside School, adapted for stage from the classic Louis Sachar books.

Calvin lives near Cleveland, where he enjoys going on adventures with his family and friends.
