After a week of KSU Kickoff fun, the first day of the fall semester is officially here.
As students and faculty head to their classrooms, take a look back at some of the events that welcomed thousands of new students to Kent State University.
Immediately following Friday’s Convocation, first-year students made their way to Centennial Field for the Class of 2030 “K” Photo. And from there, it was time to check out Ohio’s No. 1 college town during Flashes First Friday.
Friday evening wrapped up with a chance for first-year students to check out Late Night at the Library. Students enjoyed free pizza and Handel’s ice cream, plus a live DJ, games, esports and more.
And the fun continued into the weekend with the RecWellcome Back party. Activities included bottle toss, pop-a-shot, a tightrope walk challenge, rock climbing, a hang competition on a hang board, archery, sand volleyball, basketball, pickleball, yard games, board games, a DJ patio party and more.
The weekend wrapped up with the annual tradition known as Blastoff. Students got a chance to meet with more than 200 student organizations, learn about ways to get involved on campus, play games, win prizes, snag exclusive giveaways, talk with various campus departments and services, and create new friendships.
KSU Kickoff continues this week with even more welcome events around the Kent Campus.
