Shayna Sharpe
Biography
Shayna’s corporate career began in broadcasting, where she has worked as a research analyst, software trainer, and in business development. For several years, she served as the CEO of a national media sales organization, focusing on small and medium markets in all 50 states. She left the broadcasting industry to follow her true calling of writing and teaching.
Currently, she teaches Composition, Research Writing, Literature, Creative Writing, and career readiness on Kent Campus and at various correctional institutions. As the Prison Education Coordinator, Shayna organizes and oversees college-level educational programs and supports reentry efforts for incarcerated learners.
Shayna volunteers with Master Gardeners of Cuyahoga County and 4H doing youth and community education and serves as a member of her local green commission which focuses on community sustainability practices. She and her husband spend free time with their clowder of cats, flock of chickens, and backyard homestead garden.
