Fall highlights include browsing local produce and crafts at the Haymaker Farmers’ Market, hunting for vintage books at Last Exit Books and Cafe and enjoying some Standing Rock Cultural Arts events like Open Poetry on Oct. 23, or trying something new like the “I'm Just a Ghoul” Halloween-inspired Pilates pop-up event. The Kent State University Museum features a collection of historic and contemporary fashion pieces, along with rotating exhibits that explore the roles clothing and design play in culture. Take some time to walk through the galleries and see everything from unique garments to accessories and other pieces from the museum’s collections. For instance, the “Aimee Lee: Every Last Scrap” solo exhibition by Cleveland-based artist Aimee Lee runs through May. Campus and the surrounding Kent community offer endless opportunities to give back. Join Flashes Fighting Hunger to unload and sort the food recovered from its grocery partner every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Help the university deconstruct the can sculptures from the Kent State United Way Canstruction event, packing up and transporting all donated canned goods and personal items to the CARES Center and Kent Social Services. Find numerous volunteer opportunities through Helper Helper from the Center for Student Involvement.

With so many activities to choose from, students, faculty and staff can discover something new to make the most of autumn at Kent State and around the Kent community.
