When Sydney Brown arrived at Kent State University as a first-year student from Avon, Ohio, she didn't wait to get started. She walked into the TV2 newsroom — now Kent Stater TV — and introduced herself. That instinct to show up, dive in and tell stories has defined every semester since.
Eight short films produced by Kent State University School of Media and Journalism students and recent alumni have been selected to screen at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque as part of the Studio300 Student Film Festival.
The films will be showcased during a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at the Cinematheque, located at 11610 Euclid Ave. in Cleveland. The event — which includes food and raffle prizes — is free and open to the public, with advance registration required.
Coined as “music-driven media,” Black Squirrel Entertainment's Kentcore seeks to feature all types of local bands. Giving them a chance to not only show their work but also show their personalities too.
