Biography

Dr. Christine Balan earned her doctorate in Special Education from Kent State University with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis and Pharmacological Interventions. Currently, she is a full-time non-tenure track Professor in the Special Education program within the Department of Educational Foundations and Special Services. Additionally, Dr. Balan is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Balan is the faculty advisor for the Behavioral Intervention Specialist Certificate Program, a graduate certificate program that has been approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as meeting the course content requirements for eligibility to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst examination. Dr. Balan frequently teaches Applied Behavior Analysis I, Applied Behavior Analysis II, and Pharmacological Intervention in Special Education. During her time at Kent State University, Dr. Balan was selected as the recipient of the Kent State University Outstanding Teaching Award.
