Employee Self-Identification Portal Now Open

Please consider participating in the university’s self-identification process. This process helps Kent State University understand the composition of our diversified workforce and improve accessibility, veteran representation, and disability inclusion. Additionally, this will assist Kent State to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment and advancement initiatives related to the federal contractor compliance programs for veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Senate Bill 1 (SB1) Campus Concerns Reporting Page

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to ask questions, share opinions and engage in open dialogue. To support this approach, the university has created the Campus Concerns Reporting page, a central place to share concerns or experiences you believe should be reported and evaluated. Ohio Senate Bill 1 (SB1), effective June 27, 2025, introduced new requirements for colleges and universities. Under this law, universities must remain neutral on controversial political and social issues while continuing to uphold academic freedom, intellectual diversity and free expression.

2025 Annual Pay Increase Eligibility and Information for Non-Represented Staff

At Kent State University, our employees are our most valued resource. The Board of Trustees approved a 2% pay increase for all qualifying, non-represented staff (i.e., classified and unclassified employees). The 2% increase will take effect with the pay period that includes Oct. 1, 2025.

Open Enrollment Begins Monday, Oct. 13

Open Enrollment for the 2026 benefit year will begin on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at 8 a.m. and continue through Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at 5 p.m. We encourage you to take the opportunity to review your current benefit plan selections and re-evaluate your current and future benefits needs using the Open Enrollment website. Complete 2026 plan information will be made available by Monday, Oct. 13.

Annual Vacation Cutback Reminder

As we approach September, we encourage all Kent State employees who are eligible to earn vacation to review your balances and consider requesting approval to take time off before September 30 so that you do not lose any well-earned vacation time. This is an important reminder that you will experience a cutback to your vacation hours that exceed the policy maximum.
