    Kent Campus Master Plan

    During their March 2018 meeting, the Kent State University Board of Trustees adopted a 10-year facilities master plan that embarks on a $1 billion transformative journey of the Kent Campus to better serve the needs of students and the entire Kent State community. The plan enhances the welcoming feel of the university’s iconic Front Campus and genuine sense of place, elevates inclusive healthy living-learning environments, links a campuswide series of spaces focused on innovation and expands the dynamic synergy with the city of Kent.

    Responsibility Center Management Model
    The Responsibility Center Management (RCM) model is a decentralized approach to budgeting that places revenues to areas experiencing growth and encourages entrepreneurial activities, e.g., new programs and services. This budget model will enable the University to build on its success by making it easier to invest in our academic programs and services.

    University Budget Office Training
    The university budget trainings sessions provide the skills, tools and knowledge for university administrators to learn and develop their financial abilities and become advanced fiscal stewards of the university.

    Smoke-Free, Tobacco-Free Campus

    On July 1, 2017, Kent State University implemented a smoke-free, tobacco-free policy on any property owned, operated or leased by the university to include all outside areas and personal vehicles parked on university property. This strong commitment to a healthier lifestyle played a significant part in Kent State's selection for the prestigious 2018 Healthy Campus Award as one of the Healthiest Universities in the Nation.
