    Biography

    Dr. Maria Niza Licuanan-Galela joined the KSUTC faculty in 1995. She earned her doctorate degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She specializes in the study of social inequality, gender and development, and interested in disabilities studies. In addition to teaching the introduction to sociology and social problem courses, Dr. Licuanan-Galela also teaches courses on research methods, gender roles, inequality, work, and organizations. She is currently a member of the Trumbull Campus Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Planning group as well as serves at the Kent State University Police Academy Advisory Board.
