From Kent State to Beyoncé: Alumna Jade Novah Shares Her Journey Into Entertainment

Kent State University alumna Jade Novah, formerly known as Lindsay Fields, appeared in a 24-minute interview with YouTuber Terrell. Ms. Novah told Terrell about her time at Kent State before getting into the entertainment industry and eventually becoming a backup singer for Beyoncé.

The YouTube video currently has more than 300,000 views and more than 22,000 likes.

Ms. Novah majored in fashion merchandising and marketing and graduated in 2009. She told Terrell during her interview that she worked for Lacoste as a store manager after graduation.

Ms. Novah told Terrell that while she attended Kent State, Tyler Perry discovered a YouTube video of her singing in her dorm room. Ms. Novah was invited to an audition and traveled to Atlanta where she ended up as an understudy for “Madea’s Big Happy Family.”
