Competing for the Crown: Three Kent State Students Participate in Miss Ohio Title Competition

Twenty-two women from across Ohio will competed in this year’s Miss Ohio Scholarship Program June 15 at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield.

Among the contestants three were Kent State University students who hold the titles Miss Oxford, Miss Akron Canton and Miss South Central.


 

Caitlin Seifert

Miss Oxford
 
Niles native Caitlin Seifert, 19, a fashion merchandising major, possesses a talent in baton twirling. Ms. Seifert’s platform, Unity in the Community: Making Your Community a Better Home through Volunteerism, emphasizes the importance of children of all ages becoming volunteers.

 

Emelia Sherin

Miss Akron Canton
 
Emelia Sherin, 22, of Warren, studies public relations and has a knack for creative writing. Ms. Sherin’s talent is in monologue, and her platform, We Are Only Human, places a focus on combating the heroin epidemic while bringing awareness to the importance of mental health. 

 


 

Danielle Vivcharenko

Miss South Central
 
Musical theatre major Danielle Vivcharenko, 20, of North Royalton, has a talent in the disciplines of singing and dancing. Ms. Vivcharenko’s platform for this year’s competition, stART-Art Education Advocacy, promotes performing arts education for children.

 

Update: Outgoing Miss Ohio Matti-Lynn Chrisman, a Kent State alumna, placed the crown on the new Miss Ohio 2019, Miss Montgomery County Caroline Grace Williams.
