Jeffrey Harrell

Jeffrey Harrell has always been passionate about helping others. He's very grateful to have the opportunity to effectively serve youth in our region by helping them gain college access. In his life outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, getting outdoors, traveling, cooking, playing volleyball, writing poetry, and deejaying/producing music.

Position

Providing oversight and support for 2 federally funded TRIO Upward Bound Programs that serve 5 high schools (126 total participants) in our region.

Experience

Jeffrey has 20 years of experience in the youth development field. He started his career working for a nonprofit organization in Boston, MA called Citizen Schools. Jeffrey's experience at Citizens Schools fueled his desire to make a lifelong career in the field. He then went on to work at Open Doors Academy in Cleveland, OH where he served as a Program Coordinator and a Director. He also served as an Academic Program Specialist for the Educational Talent Search program at The University of Akron, which initiated his experience working in TRIO. Jeffrey landed at Kent State University Upward Bound in early 2018 and has been loving it ever since.
