Kent State 'Drives' 2021 Enrollment at the Movies

While colleges across the country have worked to find ways to recruit the next class during the pandemic, Kent State is being recognized for its unique and innovative techniques to find the class of 2025.

A recent story by News 5 Cleveland highlighted the untraditional drive-in theater admissions events that Kent State University has hosted over the past few weeks. In lieu of typical on-campus events, the Kent State admissions team has traveled across Ohio and hosted “KSU2U” drive-in presentation experiences for prospective students and families.

Both parents and students have needed additional clarity during the college admissions process this year due to the lack of in-person campus experiences, and the drive-in events provide a way for potential Flashes to experience campus life even when they cannot physically visit.

“We were just trying to think of a way that we could still get families and students information that we needed to get to them during their college search process,” Kent State Admissions Director Mark Ledoux told News 5 Cleveland. “We take them right into the resident halls and the buildings on campus, so they can get a sense of what it’s like to be on campus.”
